What is a Google Business Profile?
A Google Business Profile is the free listing that shows your business in Google Maps and in the box of three local results at the top of a search. It holds your name, phone, hours, service area, photos and reviews. When someone searches "junk removal near me", the businesses they see on the map are Business Profiles, not websites.
For a local trade business it is often the first thing a customer sees, which is why it deserves the same care as the website. We explain the basics in how to get your business on Google Maps.
Why the profile and the website work together
Google uses your website to understand what your business does and where. A profile that links to a clear site with matching name, phone and services is easier for Google to trust than a profile on its own. The profile brings the map views, the website answers the questions and gets the call.
| Google Business Profile | Website | |
|---|---|---|
| Where it shows | Google Maps and the local 3-pack | Regular search results |
| What it is best at | "Near me" searches, reviews, directions | Details, photos, service pages, quote form |
| Who controls it | You, inside Google's rules | You, fully |
| Cost | Free to list | One-time build |
The longer version is in Google Business Profile vs website: why local businesses need both.
How the setup works
- We check what exists. Many businesses already have a half-finished or duplicate listing. We find it before creating anything new.
- You verify the profile. Google asks the owner to verify, usually by video or phone. We tell you exactly what to record and when.
- We fill in everything. Categories, services, service area, hours, description, photos and the link to your website.
- We hand you the keys. You stay the owner of the profile. We are added as a manager and can be removed at any time.
What ongoing optimization means
A profile is not something you fill in once. Google favors listings that stay active: new photos, new posts, fresh reviews and answered questions. The ongoing add-on covers that work each month, so the profile keeps moving while you are on jobs. Reviews matter most, and we cover how to ask for them in how to get more Google reviews.
What does Google Business Profile setup cost?
The setup is part of the Website + Google Profile plan: $750 for our first 10 US clients, $1,299 after that, paid once, with the full website and a year of maintenance included. Ongoing optimization is an optional add-on. We look at your town and your competitors first, then send one fixed monthly number.
Questions about google Business Profile setup.
More answers on the FAQ page.
Is a Google Business Profile free?
Yes. Google does not charge to create or keep a Business Profile. What you pay us for is setting it up correctly and, if you choose the add-on, keeping it active.
Do I need a physical address or storefront?
No. Service area businesses can hide their address and show the towns they cover instead. You still need a real address for verification, which Google does not display.
How long does verification take?
It depends on the method Google offers. Video verification is often approved within a few days. We prepare you for it so it passes the first time.
I already have a profile. Can you fix it?
Yes. We clean up categories, services, photos and the description, and remove or merge duplicates where Google allows it.
Will this put me first on Google Maps?
Nobody can promise a position. Ranking in the map depends on how close the searcher is, how well the profile matches the search and how strong your reviews are. A complete, active profile with a matching website gives you the best chance.
